The Port Mdison Yacht Club is hosting the Round the Island Race next week end and several sixes will be racing. This will be the first distance race for the fleet in quite a while. The start will be in a sutherly direction off Point Monroe and leave Bainbridge and the bouy at Restoration Point to Starboard. the finish will be off the Brownsville marina. The dinner is always fun. Hopefully the weather will hold for next weekend. The second day is always a bit problematic. typically light or no wind, the race committee has several contingencies in place to try for a second leg, we often just hang out 'til the coffee is gone and motor home to mow the lawn. We'll hope for more. Hanko will race.
